Manchester United Reportedly Lining Up EPL Rivals' Transfer Supremo to Replace Ed Woodward

Manchester United are reportedly lining up Everton Director of Football Marcel Brands as their first director of football in a move that could see current C.E.O Ed Woodward leave the club.

According to reports from The Sun, the United chiefs are looking to appoint Brands after glimpses of promise with Everton in the transfer market with him also set to leave the premier league side at the end of the season.

Since Sir Alex Ferguson retirement, Manchester United have been struggling in the transfer market with Woodward failing to live up to expectations and hence, making fans to want him out of the club.

Marcel Brands has already seen some of impressive transfers to the Everton squad including James Rodriguez, Allan and Doucoure which has alerted the Red Devils.

The 58 year old is also experienced in the director of football role as he has spent time with RKC Waalwijk, AZ Alkmaar and PSV Eindhoven where he oversaw impressive transfers and a move to United could be highly welcome by United fans.

Other names being linked with a move to Old Trafford for the role include former star Edwin Van Der Sar, Arsenal legend Marc Overmas among many others and it remains to be seen how things will turn up in the end.
