Harambee Stars and Wazito FC defender Johnston Omurwa has joined Israel top-flight side Sektzia Ness Ziona FC.The former Butere boys high school captain had trials in South Africa before the deal fell through. Regarded as one of the best defenders in the country, Omurwa will be hoping to stamp a name abroad as he aims at following the likes of Joseph Okumu and Eric Ouma who have made it in Sweden and Belgium respectively. According to sports journalist Jeff Kinyanjui, the towering defender has joined the top flight side after weeks of trials with the side.Omurwa becomes the first Kenyan defender to feature in Israel as he looks to make his career abroad. He is the future of the national team alongside Joseph Okumu in Central defence.

Omurwa has featured for both under 23 and Harambee Stars senior team in recent times. He played in the world cup qualifiers against Mali, and was among the few players who were outstanding for the national team. Despite losing 1.0,the Kenyan was outstanding as he dealt with Mali strikers well. The young defender received his matching orders against Egypt but redeemed himself after the red card.We wish him all the best ahead.

Elsewhere, Nairobi City Stars youngerstar Sven Yedar will be joining unnamed South African side this window. The former under 23 player has been outstanding for the side since making his top-flight debut. We wish them all the best ahead.
