Chelsea: Mendy Unavailable and Alonso Taunts Spurs Fans

Edouard Mendy

Thomas Tuchel has confirmed that Edouard Mendy will be unavailable for the showdown against Manchester City over the weekend because he is currently solving personal issues with his family. Tuchel also reported that the player has not been in training for the past couple of days, but has been in constant communication with the club giving positive reassurance that he will come back soon.

Tuchel stated that he will improvise ways of filling the void that has been left by the Senegalese whose return date is unknown. Kepa Arrizabalaga remains to be suitable replacement and fans will be hoping that he will live up to the task against Manchester City. Kepa was very reliable during the Tottenham match where he kept a clean sheet that ensured victory for the Blues.

Kylian Mbappe

Reliable sources have revealed that Chelsea had planned to launch an €85 Million bid for PSG’s striker Kylian Mbappe on the deadline day of the summer transfer window. The reports further suggest that Chelsea were planning to hijack the player from Real Madrid but PSG’s decision to keep the player was unfazed.

Kylian Mbappe currently has one year remaining at the French club and the club’s football director Leonardo is convinced that the young striker will put pen to paper in the next few days. Mbappe’s position at PSG remains the same despite a few rebellious stunts from the young player towards the end of the last transfer window. The board considers Kylian Mbappe untouchable and the club is pulling every string within its grasp to tie down the player at the club for a longer period.

Marcos Alonso

Marcos Alonso has riled up Tottenham fans after he said that hearing the fans booing at him in the London derby match was music to his ears because whenever he got the ball and passed it to someone, he would get boos which meant that he had done something good. He further mentioned that he does not bother to distract himself from the crowd because he uses the crowd’s reaction as a gauge for how good or bad he plays.
