Norah Jeruto stormed to victory in the diamond league after an impressive 9.07.33 record in the women steeplechase. The Kenyan star defeated another Kenyan Hyvin Kiyeng who came second .Kenyans have been doing well in the diamond league to far winning trophies in their respective disciplines.Some of the winners of yesterday night disciplines include Benjamin Kigen, Timothy Cheruiyot and Faith Kipyegon. Kipyegon defeated Sifan Hassan of Netherlands again after a very good run to the touch line.
Norah Jeruto did not control her tears after emerging victorious for the first time in the diamond league. She was not only happy but also thankful to God for enabling her to achieve such a great feet. She attributes her success to hard work, discipline and prayer. Her tears did not come out for nothing. She bagged herself more than three million Kenyan shillings after winning the discipline.
Unlike the Olympic games, diamond league participants are paid by the organization of the competition. Whoever that wins a respective race is entitled to more than thirty thousand US dollars and a league trophy. A good amount indeed. We congratulate her for the hard fought win. We also wish her the best as she enjoys the fruits of her hardwork.
