Arsenal's manager Mikel Arteta made some tactical change in the squad especially on full-backs. The change brought some solidarity in the defence thus contributing largely on Arsenal's 2-1 victory over Leeds United.
Mikel Arteta decision to deploy Takehiro Tomiyasu as a left-back instead of Nuno Tavares was surprising but it did work. Takehiro Tomiyasu was solid on the left wing during Leeds United's match. He showed the composure needed for a left-back. He proved to Mikel Arteta that he can play any position whenever given an opportunity.
It was golden chance for the Gunners to identify another versatile and utility defender. Takehiro Tomiyasu has now been identified as a utility defender for Arsenal. He can play both left- back and right-back. Arsenal will rejoice in his presence since he can fit any position.
Arsenal were missing a competent left-back after Kieran Tierney's injury. Nuno Tavares who came in to serve as alternative to Tierney lacked confidence to withstand the intensity of premier league matches. However, Arsenal have found a super left-back.
