UEFA Champions League

Heartbreak For Ajax; There Will be no Champion in the Dutch League

Ajax who were leading the Dutch League popularly known as the Eredivisie have become the first major casualty after the League was cancelled.

That means there would be no Champion or relegation. But it is a relief as Ajax who are first according to completed fixture will be in next season's champions League if it commences.

With prime minister Mark Rutte banning professional football until September, the Dutch Football Association ended the season.

But it is a blow to 6th placed FC Utrecht, who are three points behind Willem but they have played one game less and have a far superior goal difference. But with the cancellation of the league it means FC Utrecht will miss out a Europa spot to their counterparts Willem.

It also means that Hakeem ziyech can now join Chelsea where he was supposed to join in July. This is if Chelsea overturns a three goal first leg deficit and proceeds further in champions League, as there are reports the champions league will be continued in the coming months of July and August.
