Arsenal: Aouar's Ideal Replacement, Massive Carabao Cup Win, Tavares' Appreciation Post

Charlie Patino

Reliable sources have taunted Houssem Aouar’s exclusion from Arsenal’s transfer list after it was reported that Arsenal are planning to induct Charlie Patino into the first eleven squad. Aouar had previously been linked with the North London club during the last summer transfer window but Arsenal did not make a move on him on deadline day.

Aouar is currently placed on the blacklist of Lyon’s squad after he incited a rebellion against the incumbent football director Juninho. As such, Arsenal have questioned Aouar’s discipline and have opted not to take the risk of signing the player. Besides, Charlie Patino is younger than Aouar’s and has more to offer for the club in the years to come.

Important Win

Arsenal registered an important win after they thumped Championship side AFC Wimbledon in the third round of the Carabao Cup. Arsenal netted three goals courtesy of an Alexander Lacazette penalty, a Smith Rowe rebound, and an Eddie Nketiah Masterclass back heel.

Throughout the game, Arsenal were very possessive with the ball and often relied on the two midfield anchors – Sambi and Partey for defensive support. Lacazette was undoubtedly the man of the match because he displayed an all round performance. He was ever omnipresent on the pitch and very commanding in both offensive and defensive duties.

Nuno Tavares

Arsenal’s left-back Nuno Tavares was very appreciative of the support that the Arsenal fans gave him at the Emirates yesterday. From his energetic performance, it is no doubt that he is becoming a fan favorite for Arsenal fans. He was impressive, to say the least, and was fully engaged both offensively and defensively. Although his game style is a little bit different from Tierney’s, he will be a crucial puzzle piece for the Gunners this season.
