Since joining Qatar Stars League (QSL) club Al Duhail in 2021 from Japanese side Kashiwa Reysol, Kenya national team captain Michael Olunga has been winning awards at will.Some of the major awards which he has won include The AFC Champions League golden boot, QSL golden boot and QSL player of the month among many others.
Current updates indicate that Olunga has been nominated for a top award in Qatar.Olunga will be up against Akram Afif (Al Sadd) and Angolan Jacinto Dala (Al Wakrah) for the Qatar Stars League best player award.This is a big nomination for Olunga who will be looking forward to adding another award to his cabinet.
Over the 2021/22 season, Olunga topped the goal scorers list with 24 goals with his competitor Akram Afif finishing third with 14 goals.Olunga's club Al Duhail finished second behind Akram Afif's Al Sadd who won the league title with 62 points.
