Being the defending Qatar Stars League golden boot award winner, everyone is keen on Kenyan international Michael Olunga to see if he will be able to defend the award. After netting his first and only goal over the ongoing 2022-23 season against Al Wakrah in his first match of the season, things seem to not be turning out well for Olunga as despite clocking the full minutes in Al Duhail's 2-1 win over Al Rayyan on Tuesday August 16, he was still not lucky enough to score his second goal of the season.
Al Rayyan opened the scoring in the 9th minute through Yohan Boli but Youssef Ayman Faihat netted the equalizer in the 48th minute.Khaled Mohammed doubled the lead in the 87th minute after which Al Duhail's Diyab Taha received a red card. The win left Olunga's Al Duhail in the 5th position on the league table with 4 points from 3 matches.
Do you think despite a slow start Olunga is still capable of defending his golden boot award? Feel free to share your views on the comment section and remember to share and follow for more news.
