Mamelodi Sundowns Make History In The CAF Champions League

Sundowns are the inaugural CAF Women Champions League Winners after defeating Ghanaian side Hasaacas Ladies 2-0 in the finals at the 30th June stadium in Cairo, on Friday night. They made history by becoming the first women to win the competition that was launched on September 12, 2020.

Sundowns scored their first goal through a close range effort by Morifi after she connected a superb taken cross from Mgcoyi. At the 64 minute, Mgcoyi who assisted the first goal got the chance to net the second goal.

The two goals scored by Chuene Morifi and Andisiwe Mgcoyi were enough to ensure a win for the South Africans, who publicly displayed a good performance.

As the match came to an end, there was drama after Sundowns Regina Mogolola saw red because of making a dangerous tackle on Aidoo, but it didn't matter because they were already ahead and had secured the match.
