Arsenal And Manchester United Are Shopping For The Same Player.

Arsenal have long admired Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Lemar.

Lemar has been on their radar since 2017, when they competed with Liverpool for his signature, but he eventually signed with Atletico Madrid.

Lemar went on to struggle in his first season in La Liga, allowing Arsenal and Liverpool to feel vindicated for passing on him, but with time, Lemar managed to hit top form for Atletico Madrid.

His form has sparked a lot of interest, and according to Todo Fichajes, Arsenal is more interested than ever in luring him away from Atletico Madrid. The Todo Fichajes report goes on to claim that Arsenal will have to compete with another Premier League rival for his signature, but this time it will be Manchester United instead of Liverpool.

With Lemar's contract set to expire in 2023, he could be available for a bargain fee next summer, which is when Arsenal should go after him and fulfill their 2017 appetite for his services, as Lemar has returned to his Lyon form and could be a hit at the Emirates.

Arsenal's midfield is quite crowded, but the addition of Lemar only strengthens them. Given that they may be heading to Europe next season, having multiple options could be the next strategy in Arteta's rebuild.
