7 Key Players To Miss Dubai and Cape Town 7s World Rugby Series. Get To Know The Force Behind Them.

Fear were rife yesterday that some Kenya Sevens might boycott their World Rugby Sevens Series in Dubai and Cape Town.

The financially strained side has resorted to fundraising on social media to raise money for their upkeep after complaining of feeling abandoned by the government and the Kenya Rugby Union(KRU).

Efforts to get comments from KRU officials proved futile.

Retired Rugby players have provided the "M-Changa number" to be used for raising funds. The players and team members complained that it has been a tough time for the players as their was neither salaries nor allowances to help them cater for their families.

The sources from the team indicate that the players might boycott the Dubai tour. Ambaka's tonight Twitter handle read:

"As you may have heard, we are now going on our third month without pay. Our lives have been greatly strained, even in our persistent effort to give you the desired outcomes in the pith".

Here are some of the Kenyans reactions on social media.

In my opinion, the government should heed the player's plea. They can't travel leaving their families in Straining state as they jet abroad. The new sports Cs Ababu Namwamba should come through to sought out the issue of player's salaries. If not Kenya might display very poor results in the 7s championship.

What's your take on this? What's your plea to the Kenya Rugby Union?
