Manchester United failed to reinforce the midfield department during the summer transfer window, making some of the club's critics point out that the transfer miss is set to hold them back. Well, so far so good, Manchester United have managed to cope with what they have, but a report has now cropped up that suggests, at the back of the minds of the Manchester United hierarchy, they need to bring in at least one midfield reinforcement as early as January to finally complete the missing piece of their brilliant squad.
When it comes to midfield reinforcement, one might think of Declan Rice as the player United will be looking for. Sorry to disappoint you, but according to the latest reports, Manchester United have set their sights on Inter Milan's Croatian all-action midfielder, Marcelo Brozovic, with a move for him planned to be completed as soon as possible. Although Brozovic is a talented midfielder, bringing him in during the January transfer window seems ill-advised given that he is in the final year of his current contract and a contract extension is not guaranteed. However, a move for him in January may be fueled by the fact that the 28-year old may have a slew of suitors when he becomes a free agent next summer.
Although it has not been revealed what the transfer fee would be for Brozovic to join the Red Devils, it has been revealed that Inter Milan may be interested in a swap deal between Donny Van De Beek and Brozovic, but that will raise one difficult question among United fans who trust Ole Gunnar when he says "Donny is an important player for Manchester United and that his time to shine will come."
What are your thoughts on the possibility of Manchester United bringing in Brozovic in January? Do they require him? Please leave your thoughts in the section below.
