Manchester United's hope of sealing a deal for Real Madrid star defender, Raphael Varane may be hanging by the balance with the Premier League giants reportedly not willing to match the asking price imposed on the player by the La Liga side.
According to latest reports from Marca reporter, Jose Felix Diaz, the Red Devils are not willing to match the Los Blancos' €60million valuation on Varane, considering the fact that the 28 year old is facing the final year of his contract at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Reports from Spanish outlet, AS, few days ago stated that the Manchester club had their opening offer of €40million plus €5million in bonuses turned down by the La Liga giants who were holding out for a much improved offer, but it seems the Red Devils are not ready to go beyond their initial bid.
Meanwhile, further reports suggest that the French international held a face-to-face meeting with manager Carlo Ancellotti, who is believed to be still trying to convince him to stay at the Santiago Bernabeu amid his desire to change clubs this summer. However, it is not yet known what the two discussed and hence, now putting a potential transfer in question.
