Manchester United hosted Brighton at Old Trafford for Premier League clash in which they were aiming to bounce back to winning ways. Brighton had controverssially lost the reverse fixture 3-2 hence were furious to avenge the defeat early enough as Ex-Manchester United Forward Danny Welbeck opened the scoring in the 13th minute to make 3 goals scored against the red devils since he left the club. Danny Welbeck classic header goal was enough to gift Brighton a 1-0 lead at the break as Mason Greenwood header hit the crossbar to bounce out. Manchester United returned to the second half more motivated for the 3 points & Marcus Rashford combined with Bruno Fernandes to score the equalizer inthe 65th minute. Manchester United pushed harder for a winner whereby Mason Greenwood combined with Paul Pogba in the 84th minute to score the winner for the red devils. After the 2-1 victory, Manchester United climbed up to position 2 in the Premier League with 60 points while Brighton remained 16th with 32 points.
Tottenham Hotspurs were stunned at St James Park by Newcastle United who held them into a 2-2 draw to force the points to be divided. Tottenham goals were scored by Captain Harry Kane in the 30th & 34th minute of the game while Newcastle United goals were scored by Joelinton & Willock. After the 2-2 draw, Tottenham climbed up to position 5 with 49 points while Newcastle United remaibed in position 17 in the Premier League Table with 29 points. Astonvilla cruised past Fulham 3-1 courtesy of Trezeguet brace & Ollie Watkinins stoppage time screamer to seal all the 3 points. Following the 3-1 victory Astonvilla climbed up to position 9 with 44 points while Fulham remained in position 18 in the Premier League Table with 26 points.
