Chelsea won narrowly by two goals to one against Crystal Palace earlier today. In the match, both teams scored their first goals in the first half. Crystal Palace netted first before Aubameyang equaled the score before the end of the first forty minutes. Chelsea struggled in the match and they had to wait for a late minute win. Gallagher scored the winning goal at the 90th minute to give the Blues the three points. However, there are three things that Graham Potter has to fix at Chelsea if at all he wants to finish in too four at the end of the season. The first main problem is in the midfield. Today, Chelsea had to use three different combinations in the midfield. Potter started with Mateo Kovacic and Jorginho in the first half. However, after minutes in the second half, Jorginho was substituted for Reuben Loftus Cheek. The duo still found it hard to penetrate the Crystal Palace midfield. This made Potter bring in Gallagher to support them. If Chelsea has to win matches, then Potter must sharpen his midfield. He should train his midfielders to move the ball forward and create scoring opportunities for the strikers and the wingers. Without NGolo Kante, Chelsea have no midfielder who can dribble the ball forward.P
otter must also develop a good football tactic and strategy. Today, Chelsea players seemed to have no clue on how to approach their opponents. The players could not play a good and flowing football like the other big clubs do. Infact, Crystal Palace displayed a good football than even Chelsea. Therefore, Potter needs to create a team spirit amongst his players. He should an understanding and make the players know their roles in the field. He should also work on his gameplan and make the players understand it well before the match. Chelsea is a big club and people will want him to display an interesting and entertaining football game.
