Arsenal: Ben White's Replacements and Jersey Number Revealed, Arsenal to Bid for Barcelona's GK

Brighton is scrupulously handpicking the suitable candidates who will fill Ben White’s shoes after the 23-year-old was traded to Arsenal for a record €50 Million in the summer transfer window. Reports have shown that Brighton had already shortlisted Liverpool’s wantaway defender Nat Philips.

The next name in the list however is Marseille and Croatia center-back behemoth Dujé Caleta-Car. The 24-year-old was a sight to behold in the Euro 2020 competition where he represented his national team with unmatched rigor and pride. Despite Croatia’s short campaign in the competitions, the defender was presaged to be one of the best Center backs in the future. And the first step towards that inflection starts with being linked with a transfer move to Brighton.

Arsenal is reportedly in constant communication with Barcelona over the potential transfer of 26-year-old shot-stopper Noberto Neto. The Spaniard has been Marc ter Stegen’s backup for three seasons now but has merely made an appearance for the Spanish giants.

Arsenal is currently scouting for a second-choice goalkeeper with Neto being among the shortlisted five prospects. Reports have shown that Barcelona has already placed a €15 Million asking price for the goalkeeper and Arsenal is seriously pondering whether to cash in for the keeper or not. Mikel Arteta is known for his generosity in giving other goalkeepers playing time, a virtue that may attract Neto to Arsenal in the summer transfer window.

Ben White is expected to be announced officially next week after it was confirmed that Arsenal had finally agreed with Brighton over the transfer fee for the defender. It has been verified behind closed doors that the coveted Defender will wear William Saliba’s jersey number- 4, which further makes his transfer even more controversial.
