Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is currently undecided on who should be Arsenal’s next captain. Lacazette has seemed to step in since the dethroning of Aubamayeng but his contract is set to expire in the summer. This now forces Mikel Areta to make a decision now on who will be leaving Arsenal on a long term basis. However Marsaile manager has told Mikel Arteta that he has a real leader in the squad.
Jorge Sampaoli has termed arsenal loanee Matteo Guendouzi as a true dressing room leader who has the potential of captaining a team. Marseille have an option to sign the star if they meet some specific conditions in the loan deal. The French midfielder has been having a good season but it is still unclear whether Arsenal will recall him or not at the end of the season.
The manager has however praised the midfielder’s performance and resonance.“We imagined that would be the case but that it would happen over time. Seeing this in addition to his performances, we have an energy that everyone can envy. It’s contagious and it’s a very important value in life. There’s also personal capacity on the mental side. Guendouzi, for example, he’s 22-years-old but he acts like he’s 30. The most important thing is maturity.”he said.
