After winning against South Sudan and Tanzania 1-0 and 2-1 respectively, Harambee stars have qualified in AFCON group stages and the coach Jacob Mulee have choosen his squard to work on in the next stage. The identified squard are expected to report back on Sunday before playing against Pharaohs on Thursday next week.

In the goalkeeper role he chooses James Saruni from Ulinzi stars and Joseph Okoth from KCB. On the defense Baraka Basi of KCB and Daniel Sakari of Kariobangi sharks are expected to play as right backs. On the left back, David Owino and Harun Meals were preferred. At the center,James Omurwa of Wazito and Nahashon Alembi of KCB were retained.
In the midfield role Gor Mahia captain Kenneth Muguna is expected to partner with Namasaka of Bandari, Lawrence Juma of Sofapakaard and Kevin Kimani of Wazito. On the attacking side Boniface Muchiri of Tusker, Abdalla Hassan of Bandari and Elvis Rupia of AFC Leopards were preferred.
The selected players are expected to play against Egypt and Equatorial Guinea respectively. Harambee Stars are in group G and are currently third on their table. Pharaohs are currently leading with eight points followed by Comoros.
