Arteta's Possible Next Permanent Captain May Be A Surprise To Fans As Lacazette Set For Summer Exit.

Gunners are desperately looking forward to Leicester City clash this weekend in a Premier league fixture. A very tricky Foxes side will take the short trip to the Emirates Stadium.

In a battle for a top four finish this season for Arteta's men with United and Tottenham looking more on the same race. Currently Arsenal have 48 points in 4th as red devil's languishing in 5th with 47 points. But have seen Gunners with three games in hand still to play.

Meanwhile Arteta has some issues to sort out on the players with Lacazette and Nketiah set for exits. This is due to the fact that both players are running down their contracts and are set to expire on June.

Which leaves Arteta with an option to act fast and try agree on contract extensions or let them walk out for free. Hence he will need to replace Lacazette as the captain of his team currently.

And we take a look on who is possibly on Arteta's eye to take the armband next season. Firstly, there a lot of leaders in Arsenal dressing room. With Sambi, Partey, Odegaard, Aaron, Gabriel Magalhaes and Ben White.

But they all have one thing in common, Arteta hasn't been with this group of leaders at Emirates for more than two years. Which makes it more complicated to give any of them the captaincy duties.

Secondly, there players who have been at the club in a long period of time. Like Xhaka, Kieran, Elneny, Rob Holding, Leno, Saka and Rowe. But very few can be a leader in that team. With possibility of Xhaka and the Scottish International Kieran could do.

Third, these is where Arteta will be required to make a tough example and decision. As the likes of Kieran as well as Xhaka must be the next in line for the captain duties. Therefore if Xhaka doesn't leave, in summer then he may be the permanent Arsenal captain.

Regardless of his past when he had confrontations at Emirates with Arsenal fans. After he was substituted against Crystal Palace. He did walked out of the pitch despite Arsenal in a 2-2 draw instead of running out. Meanwhile Kieran can be his immediate deputy.
