Opinion: Why Super Eagles Retirees Are Returning Back To The Team

There have been some speculations that, Spartak Moscow winger, Victor Moses might represent Nigeria again in the forthcoming 2022 African Cup Of Nations tournament, in Cameroon.

The former Chelsea star who lastly played for the Super Eagles in 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, is reportedly heading close to wearing the green jersey once again.

For your information is that, Victor Moses might become the second player to come back from retirement and feature for Nigeria, after Odion Ighalo.

It would be recalled that, Odion Ighalo was invited to take part in the last group C fixtures of the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifying campaign, against Liberia and Cape Verde.

The purpose of this article is to reveal some of the possible hidden reasons as to why these retired players are making a U-turn, after quiting the national team.

Forthcoming African Cup Of Nations and the World Cup tournament that will be played in 2022.

In this case, each and every football player would not like to sit at home and watch his colleagues showcasing their talent at the global tournament, hence to my opinion, this might have informed their decisions to return.

Goal scoring ability

Despites the fact that these players made their decisions to retire earlier than expected, they still score goals for their respective clubs, therefore the feeling that the still have something to offer to their national team, persists.

Age

Another contributing factor is age because at the ages of 30 and 32 years respectively, Victor Moses and Odion Ighalo still believe that age is still on their side, thus cannot hinder their performance at the word Cup.

What's your opinion as a reader, what do you think is making the duo to return back to the Super Eagles even after they had retired? Kindly share with us your thoughts in the comments section below, then click on the like button below.
