Former Tusker FC captain and Harambee Stars defender Eugene Asike has secured a permanent move yo Swedish third tier side IF Karlstad Fotbol on a permanent deal. According to sports journalist Kevin Teya, the central defender has already linked up with his new club on a permanent. It is a big blow for the Ruaraka based side as they look to finish the season on a high.Robert Matano side is currently second on the league table behind leaders Kakamega Homeboyz. With few matches remaining, his experience could have been vital for the side. However,it is a big move for the defender as he looks to continue with his career in Europe.
Hopefully, Asike will follow the footsteps of Joseph Okumu who was in the Swedish allavaskan side before moving to Belgium for KAA Gent. Asike is known for his aerial ball prowess, long range passing as well as physical strength. He featured for Harambee Stars in the world cup qualifiers. A step that saw him attract interests abroad. His move comes at a time when Kenyan players have been making moves abroad. We wish him all the best ahead.
