Manchester United and FIFA have reacted to Cristiano Ronaldo's statement after he scored a brace in Portugal's 2-1 comeback victory over Republic of Ireland to become the all-time leading scorer in international football.
Coach Fernando Santos gave Cristiano Ronaldo a starting berth in the home team's assault, and he was able to shine during the game.
In the 45th minute, Sheffield United defender John Egan started the scoring for the away team, and Cristiano Ronaldo equalized with a stunning header in the 89th minute before scoring the game-winning goal in the 90th minute to make the score 2-1.
With his brace, Ronaldo has now scored 111 goals for the Portugal national team, making him the all-time best scorer in international competition.
