Kenyan Born Jeruto To Receive Millions From Kazakhstan After Victory In 3000m Steeplechase

Over the past few years, Kenyan athletes have been changing their allegiance after which they go on to represent other countries.With the World Athletics Championships on in Oregon, USA, one of the Kenyan born athletes who outshined Kenyans while in other country's colours is Norah Jeruto who smashed 3000 metres steeplechase championship record to win gold medal for Kazakhstan.

After this achievement, Jeruto is set to receive Ksh 29.7 million from Kazakhstan as opposed to Kenya where he would have received Ksh 1 million for the same achievement.In her times as a Kenyan athlete, Jeruto achieved quite a number of medals some of which include:

1.Africa Cross Country Championships, South Africa 2011 - gold medal

2.World Youth Championships, France 2011 - gold medal in 2000m steeplechase

3. Commonwealth Youth games, 2011 - gold medal in 2000m steeplechase

4. African Championships, South Africa 2016 - gold medal in 3000m steeplechase
