Nuno set for Wolves goodbye
Ahead of their final game of the season, Wolves manager Nuno Espirito Santo announced that he’s leaving the club at the end of the campaign. Having guided the club from the bottom half of the Championship to Europe, that’s a big blow.
At the start of the season if you’d said this would be a goodbye for either manager you’d have backed a Solskjaer departure. However, he’s led United from strength to strength, with Wednesday’s Europa League final now overshadowing the big finish for United.
Entertaining Red Devils
The visitors have won just one of their last five games, but a positive result here would see them finish the campaign unbeaten away from home in the league. United have done that in high-scoring fashion, notching 1.83 goals per match.
However, the Red Devils are looking vulnerable ahead of this clash. Solskjaer is expected to name a second-string side ahead of the midweek visit to Gdansk, which offers Wolves an opportunity to cause problems.
United looking open
The Red Devils have seen their defence crumble in recent weeks, with focus switching towards the showdown with Villarreal. The away side have seen both teams score in each of their last six matches in all competitions That shows how poor United are without Harry Maguire in the side.
Wolves aren’t the most inspiring side going forward, but they have scored in three of their last four games at Molineux. Nuno could let his side off the leash for his final game, which could give us a thrilling clash against a United second-string who are top-heavy.
This doesn’t jump out as the most entertaining game, but we can see goals given the context for both sides going into this one. They both have little to lose and should get licence to roam forward. That has us backing both teams to score alongside a 2-2 draw.
