Setback For Arsenal As Thomas Partey Set To Stay Out For Up to Six Weeks With Ankle Injury

Arsenal have suffered a major setback after midfielder Thomas Partey got injured in the pre-season friendly against Chelsea.Thomas Partey was the liveliest of the Arsenal players on Sunday before a clash mid first half.

He has had a series of injuries since signing for Arsenal last summer. He barely played half of last season.

According to AFC TV ,the communication from Arsenal medical doctor is that it seems to be an ankle injury that is likely to keep Thomas Partey out for a period of 4-6 weeks. This is bad news to Arsenal especially as they were looking to starting the season with all their players fit.It is described as a high ankle sprain otherwise known as syndesmotic tear. The type of injuries that come with a 4-6 week return only if it's grade 1.It was the type of injury that Harry Maguire also had.

However Arsenal are not short of midfielders since Mohammed Elneny,Xhaka and new boy Lokonga are available.Academy prospect Miguel Azeez is available too.
