Thomas Tuchel decided to hand some players a rare chance to impress in the match against Watford at Vicerage Road last night in mid week English Premier league fixture.
Saul Niguez, a loanee from Atletico Madrid was offered a rare chance to make his debut in the English Premier league after his match against Aston Villa in the Carabao Cup.
However, the Spaniard did not impress yet again as he looked lost in the match against the high pressing Watford. Saul Niguez cost Chelsea the equalising goal with his poor performances making Thomas Tuchel sub him at half time of the match.
Speaking after the match, Thomas Tuchel revealed why he decided to substitute Saul Niguez for Thiago Silva as he stated:
"I don’t know where he goes from this performance but he was on a yellow card so we had two options.
We could have taken Marcos [Alonso] off who also had a yellow card and try Saul as a wing-back."
Should Chelsea terminate his loan deal?
