Many of the reports coming out of Arsenal are focused on the barren draw against Brighton in the League match, but if you're looking for other news, here are some of the most important stories you may have missed.
Apart from Tomiyasu, Gabriel Maghales' return to Arsenal's defense has been instrumental in the club's recovery from a poor start to the season. The partnership of Ben White and Gabriel has been so important that they have only conceded once in three games together and have more clean sheets (3) than the partnership of Maguire and Varane.
Much has been said about what has contributed to Gabriel's impressive performance, but in his own words, Maghales has revealed that learning English has been a significant boost because it helped him understand what was being asked of him in the beginning. Gabriel also stated that playing in England was difficult if you did not have a strong command of the language, as adapting to life in the country required speaking English.
Lorenzo Insigne was arguably one of Italy's best players at EURO 2020, and his impressive performance piqued the interest of top European clubs. Napoli, on the other hand, had received no bids for him, and he was set to finish his current contract with the club. Despite the fact that little is known about his contract negotiations with Napoli, reports claim that Arsenal have set their sights on him and are in a strong position to persuade him to join them when his current deal with Napoli expires next year. Can Arsenal reclaim their status as a title contender with the addition of Insigne? Only time will tell if that question is answered.
Jack Wilshere has been in and out of the Arsenal team, and it was his insight into the current squad that prompted SKY Sports News to ask him who he thought was the best player for Arsenal during the Brighton vs Arsenal match. Many assumed he would choose Bukayo Saka, but that was not the case; instead, he chose Emile Smith Rowe as the star of the current Arsenal squad. His reasoning was as follows: "He had a great season last season, but this season the consistency and at such a young age to be Arsenal’s best player, for me either him or Saka, probably him, their best player this season so far is a credit to him."
