Reason Why Arsenal May Decide Against Giving Arteta New Contract Ahead Of Summer

Gunners are desperately trying to challenge United in a top four battle in the Premier league table. As there at 6th position with 45 points while United are in 4th position with 47 points just two above Gunners.

However there is a significant change of performance as well as result since Arteta took over from Unai. As the spaniard, Mikel winning FA Cup and a community shield as well already with the club.

Meanwhile despite the 39 year old having less than a year left in his current contract. There is a section of fans and may be pundits and former players. Who as well think Arteta should be given a new contract at the club.

We take a look at what could make Stan Kroenke still turn against doing exactly that. Firstly, if Mikel fails to lead the team back to European football. These could mean the club will be risking giving him new deal.

With the huge possibility of sacking him could be on the horizon especially with three times missing out on European football.

Secondly, the club can wait and give him funds to try sign new players in the summer. The see how best he can perform with the crop of players in half of the season.

By next Christmas if the club is almost at the top four or already showing strong signs of finishing in the top positions for European football. Then they can agree on new terms with the former Everton captain.

Finally, if there emerges a better prospect in transfer market than Arteta. Definitely the owners would at as per now welcome such an idea if the manager will try and take. The club back to Champions league nights as soon as possible.
