African representative in this year's world cup that is being hosted in Asia, Senegal recorded the first victory ever since the tournament begun on Sunday.
In another match that was played late in the evening, Ecuador and the Netherlands shared the spoils when Gakpo (Netherlands) And Valencia (Ecuador) scored one goal each from both sides.
With both teams having played two matches each in group A, a look at the table standing shows that both Ecuador and Netherlands are on top with four points each and two goal differences.
On the other hand, Senegal has only three points from the victory today having lost its first match to Netherlands.
And finally the hosts Qatar who haven't won any match nor drew have no point at all and as a result are in the last position.
With only one match remaining against Netherlands, Qatar are technically out of the tournament even if they win.
For Senegal to proceed, it has to beat Ecuador and get the whole three points to Become number two if Netherlands beats Qatar.
