Frenkie De Jong has been top on Manchester United's transfer targets this summer. United are keen in ensuring they win the player's signature as it has been reported that he is the pivot to Ten-Hag's expected rebuild.
The Dutch top midfielder is currently contracted with Spanish top club FC Barcelona. The Catalans giants are yet to reach a final agreement with Manchester United on the player's proposed move to Old Trafford. 
Many of Manchester United fans currently do not fully understand upto which extent the deal has reached. According to latest reports, Manchester United and Barcelona agreed on a guarantee fee of sixty five million euros.
The two clubs are currently negotiating on the twenty million euros in add-ons. It has also been reported that the player's preference has been to stay at Barcelona. However, to accommodate him at Nou Camp he must reduce his salary but reports indicate that salary reduction is not on the cards now.
