Man Utd: Top Forward Still Has Old Trafford Hope, Ten Hag To Battle Conte For Atleti Man

Here is the latest from Manchester United.

Some Manchester United fans believe David De Gea's style of play is incompatible with what Ten Hag expects from his goalkeepers. While De Gea is good at making blocks and saves, there are concerns about his footwork (particularly passing), leading to speculation that he will leave United at the end of the season when his contract expires.

According to Manchester World, United can finally sign their old flame, Jan Oblak, from Atletico Madrid for £27 million in the January transfer window. The 29-year-old has a £103 million release clause, so United may see the £27 million offer as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to sign the La Liga hotshot as their next goalkeeper. Tottenham are also interested in the Atletico Madrid player.

Meanwhile, the Red Devils may have passed on Cody Gakpo in exchange for Antony, but it now appears that they may be forced to go back for him: His performance of 10 goals and 9 assists in 13 games this season is too good to pass up. According to Forbes, Gakpo believes United will re-enter the bidding for him.

Forbes writes, "At the start of September, United endured an uncomfortable transfer deadline day as both Leeds United and Southampton made bids for Gakpo, but the player opted to remain in the Netherlands, aware that United were likely to come back for him."
