Senegal saw off Ecuodor 2-1 at Khalifa International Stadium to become first African state to qualify to the 2022 World Cup Round of 16. Senegal opened the scores in the 44th minute through Ismail Sarr who converted a penalty in the 44th minute to gift the African Champions a 1-0 lead at halftime. Ecuador equalised in the 68th minute through Moises Caicedo before Chelsea defender Kalidou Koulibaly scored the winner in the 70th minute to gift Senegal a 2-1 victory. Following the 2-1 win; Senegal qualified to the World Cup Round of 16 at position 2 in Group A table with 6 points while Ecuador were knocked out at position 3 with 4 points.

Netherlands goals were scored by Cody Gakpo in the 26th minute while Frenkie De Jong scored 2nd goal in the 49th minute to seal a vital clean sheet victory for the Dutch. Following the 2-0 win; Netherlands finished at the top of Group A table with 7 points while Qatar finished in position 4 with 0 points.
