Why 2 Safaricom Officers Have Been Arrested

Police officers have arrested two senior employees of safaricom for attempting to sell a hidden information about gambling trends on millions of subscribers to a leading sports betting firm.According to the report,the giant telecommunication company had ealier on raised a complain with the Director of Criminal Investigations about the subscriber data leakage on betting trends.The information reveals that the complain came after a man whom has been identified as Benedict Kabugi Ndungu sent the leaked data on the subscribers betting trends to a senior safaricom executive with an intension of getting payout to prevent release of information to the public.

"We laid a trap and arrested them as they conversed about data leakage with another suspected identified as Charles Njuguna Kinuthia,"the police reports.Mister Kinuthia was a senior manager in charge of networks and Mpesa system auditor while his fellow was the head of regional expansion at the safaricom company.The two have been charged with demanding three million Kenyan shillings from the company by threats.
