
According to reports in Kenya, Orlando Pirates are seriously interested in a move for Gor Mahia star Benson Omala. Manager Jose Riveiro is looking to add more depth to his team’s frontline for next season and the Kenyan international has been shortlisted as a potential target.
Benson Omala played for Western Stima KPL team before joining Gor Mahia in the summer of 2020. He has featured in 19 games for the Kenya Premier league side across all competitions this season, scoring 19 goals (stats via Jeff Kinyanjui).
The striker can play in multiple positions across forward line – as a winger and in attacking midfield.
The 21-year-old is in having a fantastic year, becoming the only player to hit two hat tricks this season after scoring the treble against Wazito FC and Vihiga Bullets.
Currently, the youngster tops the top scoring charts with his nineteen goals that are five clear of his closest challenger Elvis Rupia in the race for the Golden Boot.
