The cabinet secretary for sports and gender Ababu Namwamba has disclosed why he went to Qatar when Kenya isn't one of the countries represented.
Speaking on Tuesday night to citizen TV, the CS defended himself saying going there was pre-planned.
He narrated how he had wanted to meet the football world's governing body FIFA's top officials led by president Giani infantino over the Kenyan ban.
Unfortunately for him, the time he made a call to book an appointment, FIFA's top brass were 'parking bags' to go to Qatar forcing him to visit them In the Asian nation.
He said his meeting was very fruitful whereby he managed to convince both FIFA and Confederation of African football (CAF) to lift the ban.
" My main mission for going to Qatar was to meet up with FIFA President Gianni Infantino to lift the suspension on Kenya’s football", said Namwamba.
However, some netizens who took to Twitter didn't seem convinced by the cabinet secretary's answer with some opining that the excuse given by the CS was forthcoming.

Kenya's top government officials are fond of making very expensive trips whenever an opportunity arises.
During the climate change meeting in Egypt, Kenya had the largest delegation among African countries.
