PORTO V SANTA CLARA
After the conclusion of this latest international break, Porto will have one eye on their Champions League quarter-final clash against Thomas Tuchel's Chelsea in midweek. However, they must first navigate past a Santa Clara side (7th) who are keen to snap their dismal H2H streak this weekend. Will it be plain sailing for the hosts?
Porto is ten points adrift of leaders Sporting through 24 games and cannot afford to drop anymore - especially in winnable matchups like these, regardless of their Champions League commitments.
Benfica and Braga aren't too far behind, so with that and a perfect 7-0 H2H record intact, there's the additional onus on Sergio Conceicao's men to produce a morale-boosting display here ahead of their midweek exertions.
Although I expect some squad rotation from Saturday's hosts, they should do enough to prevail while keeping a clean sheet.
Prediction: Porto win
ATLETICO BILBAO V REAL SOCIEDAD
Athletic Bilbao did not manage to win the previous three games, so the team is in a crisis of results before the Basque derby, but when the Copa del Rey final is played, we can expect everything. On the other hand, Real Sociedad has suffered a drop in form lately, as the team has only managed to win once in the previous 5 games. Given that both teams are in bad shape, I expect a balanced and tense game until the very end.
An interesting fact should be pointed out: Athletic Bilbao played 1-1 in 4 of the previous 5 games at home. All in all, I expect both teams to play safer than the first minute, and I think we won’t get a winner of this final after 90 minutes of play.
Prediction: Both teams to score
