Arsenal maintained their stay at the top of the Premier League table after defeating Tottenham 3-1 at the Emirates. Arsenal may be at the top of the league, but Manchester City, the defending champions, is only a point behind them with 20 points. With Liverpool absent at the top, Arsenal could be the team to end Man City's dominance this season.
Arsenal legend Arsene Wenger admits that beating City for the title will be difficult, but he believes Pep's desire for Champions League glory with Manchester City may cause them to lose focus, which may be how Arteta beats his mentor to the title. Wenger argues, "Personally I would put them just behind City. The second-best team to have a good chance to win the Premiership [sic]. Man City at some stage will focus highly on the Champions League."
Let's hope Wenger's predictions come to pass because Arsenal really needs to win the title soon. It's been 18 years since they last did.
