The Rise Of A Kenyan Footballer In Japan Continues After Scoring On Sunday

Harambee stars striker Michael Ogada Olunga netted one goal, as his Kashiwa Reysol side suffered a 3-2 away defeat against Shonan Belmare in a Premier League clash early on Sunday.

Olunga scored the first goal in the 22nd minute following a Christianity pass, an equalizer after Takuyo Okamoto put the home side ahead at the start of the match.

 Following Sunday's defeat Kashiwa is eighth in the league with 37 points following 23 matches, with Kawasaki Frontale leading with 65 points from 24 matches.

 Olunga appears to have escape with a gold boot or the top scorer award in the Japanese league as having scored 22 times while his closest rivals have 12 goals each.

 The striker, who played for Thika United, Tusker fc and Gor Mahia, was shown a yellow card at the end of the match for misconduct.
