For a moment, Arsenal were considered the frontrunners to sign Leeds' energetic winger Raphinha. However, Chelsea have made significant measures in the past few hours to beat Arsenal to Raphinha's signature.
According to reports, Chelsea is willing to meet Leeds' asking price. The prospect of Chelsea meeting Raphinha's £55 million asking price should frighten Arsenal fans, but HITC reports that there is no need to be concerned because Arsenal have a last-minute offer (to be presented to Leeds soon) that should be as appealing to Leeds as what Chelsea have put on the table.
Furthermore, HITC claims that Arsenal will hold one-on-one talks with Raphinha and his entourage about his move to the Emirates.
It's clear that whoever between Arsenal and Chelsea signs Raphinha will strike gold. In 26 league games during the 2020/21 season, the Brazilian had 6 goals and 9 assists. In 34 league appearances last season, the winger scored 11 goals and assisted on three others. I can't guarantee Raphinha will be a Gunner, but I can guarantee Arsenal will do everything in their ability to sign him. (HITC)
