UEFA Champions League

7 Players Risk Suspension Ahead of The Liverpool Vs Benfica Clash

Liverpool take on portuguese side Benfica in the first league of champions league today. The reds must take a lot of caution against Benfica who booked their place in the last eight with a 3-2 aggregate victory over Ajax, with interim manager Nelson Verissimo inspiring an impressive knockout run.

With that in mind, 7 Benfica players risk being suspended for the second leg at Anfield should they lack discipline in today's clash. EUFA rules stipulates that a player shall miss one match after picking up a maximum of three yellow card in the tournament.

Three midfielders Julian Weigl, Joao Mario and Goncalo Ramos have all picked 2 yellow cards already. Defender Nicolas Otamendi and Alejandro Grimaldo also risks missing the trip to Anfield if they get caught on the right side today as well as winger Rafa Silva and striker Roman Yaremchuk.

Interim manager Nelson Verissimo will praying his boys show good sportsmanship and avoid being yellow carded to have a full squad for the tricky clash at Anfield.
