Chelsea In Talks To Sign Napoli's Center Half In A £ 33 Million Deal According To Fabrizio Romano

Chelsea are on the verge of signing Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly in a €40million (£33.8 million) deal according to reports by Fabrizio Romano.

Thomas Tuchel is keen to bolster his backline following the departures of Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen. Chelsea's captain Cesar Azpilicueta could also be on the brink of joining Barcelona whilst Marcos Alonso future as of now remains uncertain.

According to reports by the Athletic, Chelsea are close to reaching an agreement on a fee and personal terms with the Senegalese international and Napoli's central defender.

Negotiations are in advanced stages and Chelsea are confident of wrapping up a deal. Tuchel is looking to sign at least two new defenders with Joules Kounde also being among his wishlist.

Chelsea missed out on Juventus contract rebel, Matthijs de Ligt' who prefers a move to Bayern and have therefore entered negotiations to sign Nathan Ake from Manchester City.
