Eliud Kipchoge, a Kenyan marathon champion, wants to invite former US President Barack Obama to Kenya to compete in a race with him.
"I think I would choose Barack Obama," Kipchoge told the press conference on Friday.
Kipchoge was asked who, living or dead, he would most like to go for a run with as he prepared to try to break his own world record in the Berlin Marathon on Sunday.
At the 2018 Berlin Marathon, Kipchoge broke the world record with a time of 2 hours, 1 minute, and 39 seconds, and he stated that he will vote for Obama.
"The reason is, Barack Obama has a character of inspiration, the character of unity, and it goes beyond all human nature. "
Former US President Barack Obama was born in Kenya.
That running can bring people together was something Kipchoge stated he truly believed in.
"Running promotes freedom of association. When people run together, they are united - and when there is unity, there is peace."
