Kenya on the Verge of Securing Gold Medal in Tokyo Olympics

Mary Moraa during the Tokyo 2020 Olympics on Friday

All eyes in the Tokyo Olympics are looking towards Kenyan 400m champions who qualified for the 800m semifinals on Friday at the Tokyo Olympics. Kenya has not won a gold medal in the 800m women category since 2008 when Pamela Jerimo emerged the winner. This year Mary Moraa looks to be the one to bring back the first gold medal after she emerged third with a time of 2:01.66 in the fourth heat.

Kenya has not been performing at its best at the Olympics and this is after the Kenya sevens finished 9th winning only once. Malkia strikers also lost back-to-back games against a much experienced Japan team and the South Korean side before being stunned by Serbia. Kenyans' only hope lies on the athletes such as Mary Moraa who hopefully makes it to the final and wins the first gold for Kenya. We all hope Moraa will win the medal as she promised Kenyans on doing wonders at the Olympics
