Arsenal dented their top four hopes as they succumbed to a calamitous 1-0 loss against Southampton in their Premeir league round 33 encounter at St Mary's stadium today, to suffer their 3rd consecutive PL defeat. After the loss, the North Londoners dropped to 6th position in the EPL table with 54 points, as Manchester United dethroned them after cruising to a dramatic 3-2 triump against Norwich today.
The Gunners started the match with high tempo & they created a few decent chances, with Bukayo Saka's shot saved by Forster early in the first half. The hosts however scored the only goal of the match through Jan Bednarek in the 44th minute. Mikel Arteta's side rallied in the 2nd half but they couldn't find a way past soton's defense that remained solid.
In that match, Arsenal star Ben White produced a dismal performance in the heart of the gunners defense. He was responsible for the visitors conceding the only goal of the game as he played Mohamed Elyounoussi onside who provided the pass for Bednarek to score.
