Man Utd have held talks with Burnley's Weghorst over a potential loan move

The Holland international, who scored twice, including one from a clever free kick, against Argentina at the World Cup last month, is currently on season-long loan at Besiktas in Turkey. However, he has emerged as an option for United manager Erik Ten Hag.

Joined have been investigating various advance prospects this month with their January funds restricted. However, due to the fact that most preferred options are only available for permanent transfers, they have had difficulty selecting the appropriate target.

Weghorst has scored ten goals in 20 games this season, including one against Kasimpasa on Saturday. Following his goal, he waved to the fans as if to say goodbye.

The 6-foot-6-inch striker, who made the £12 million move from Wolfsburg to Burnley in January, scored Jay Rodriguez's equalizer in the 1-1 draw against United. However, he was unable to have a greater impact as the season progressed, netting only twice, and Burnley were relegated as a result.
