Arsenal: Bergwijn's Bold Message, Patino Joins Senior Team, Predicted Line-Ups

Charlie Patino

Arsenal’s Academy starboy Charlie Patino is slowly climbing the professional ladder in the Arsenal team after he was spotted training with the first team at Colney training center in preparation for the match against Championship side AFC Wimbledon. Patino recently broke headlines in the Under 23 league after he made mouth-watering performances against Chelsea, Spurs, and Manchester United.

Following his participation in Arsenal’s training yesterday he will be in contention to start today's match. It was recently revealed that Arsenal plans to table a new contract for the youngster when he turns 18 years next month. His first pro contract with Arsenal is rumored to be a five-year deal that will keep the player at the Emirates until 2026.

Predicted Line-Up

Arsenal are set to play against Championship side AFC Wimbledon at the Emirates stadium today in the second round of the Carabao Cup. Arsenal are considered the favorites in the fixture and will be seeking to extend their impressive run in the competition later tonight in order to secure qualification in the next match.

Fans have been giddy about the fixture and have accordingly predicted a few lineups online. The likes of Lacazette, Martinelli and Nuno Tavares have constantly appeared in the predicted line-ups because it has been argued that they have received less playing time this season. Arteta recently said that his team selection against AFC Wimbledon will test the players’ commitment to the club and what they are capable of doing in order to fight for positions in the team.

Steven Bergwijn

Tottenham’s striker Steven Bergwijn recently stated that Tottenham will come back bolder in the North London derby and therefore they should not be underestimated as the underdogs in the upcoming match. He said that the team has learned a few things from recent matches and that adequate preparations have already begun to seal the cracks in the squad.
