The champions of Europe have had an oustanding performance since the arrival of the German tactician, Thomas Tuchel towards the end of last season. Tuchel who had promised to build a 'lethal' team seemed to have lived to his promise after lifting two trophies; Uefa Champions League and Super Cup.
Despite this impressive display, Chelsea's boss still felt that his squad however good and revolutionized it appeared, it was not yet complete. He need a sharp man up front to utilise long balls and key crosses to the box. Finally, the ex Inter Milan top scorer accepted personal terms with the blues after a period of persuation.
The long a waited moment to end no.9 'curse' seemed to have come to an end after the spectacular display from the Belgian. However, it now appears that Chelsea players are over depending on Lukaku.
From analysis of the last 2 defeats, chelsea players seemed to have lacked creativity and courage to shoot outside the box considering that all shot have been always directed to Lukaku who a times is man marked by the opponents defence.
Chelsea players need to address this issue and change their mentality in order to blend well with Lukaku, otherwise the dream of winning the UCL title in a row will remain just a dream.
