Arsenal has been dormant since the transfer window was opened but they have managed to make their first summer signing from Benfica. Nuno Tavares has joined the Gunners for just £ 8 million. The defender has signed a long-term contract with Arsenal.
The defender will give Mikel Arteta an extra option in the back. Nuno will boost Arsenal’s defense, especially in the back-left. Mike Arteta can utilize his speed to boost Arsenal attackers from the right side of the pitch.
The 20-year-old defender will act as Arsenal’s back- up option in the back-left next season. The starlet is expected to wear Jersey number 20 once he completes his medicals with the club. A lot is expected from the young Portuguese player once he arrives at the Fly Emirates.
Nuno is a talented teenager, who was needed by a couple of big clubs in Europe but he chooses to join Arsenal. Arteta is expected to give him more playing time to help him adapt to life in the Premier League as from next season.
