Washington Wizards vs Philadelphia.
The Washington Wizards’ hot start to the season was cooled off a bit when they lost 127-117 at home to a struggling Indiana Pacers team. The Pacers’ centre Miles Turner who has been linked with several trade scenarios over the summer that failed to materialize, was the star of the show, putting up 27 points and 10 rebounds. Beal had 31 points for the Wizards but they just could put together enough defensive stops. They will look to regroup here.
Philly have been disappointing to start the season. After losing 4 of their opening 5 games of the season, they got a spark from their upcoming star Tyrese Maxey in their last game in which they beat Toronto Raptors 112-90 on the road, without their star centre Joel Embiid. Maxey tallied a career-high 44 points. The Sixers will be hoping to get more of the same when they land in the capital for this clash.
Neither of these two teams have established themselves as defensive stalwarts. We expect a back-and-forth encounter that should see both teams put up a lot of points here. We are therefore backing Over 209.5 points.
Predictions: Washington Wizard win.
